Bus
Almost all of the buses stop in front of the Kisofukushima Station. Buses stopping at the station depart to Kisofukushima, Hiyoshi, Kaida Kogen (Heights), Mt. Ontake and so on. However, the number of buses is less on the weekend. Please be sure to check the time table.

Taxis are convenient if you can’ t get the bus, have a lot of luggage and are in a hurry.
However, if you want to go to Kaida Heights or Mt. Ontake, travelling by bus is cheaper.

Train
Kisofukushima Station (JR chuo line) is a stop of limited express train "Shinano". It is 90 mins from Nagoya, Nagano. From here, you can change to local train. It is convenient for Neighboring sight seeing.

Kisofukushima Station
Kisofukushima Station has two platforms, one gate each for entry and exit. There are limited express train “Shinano” and local train(operated by JR Tokai) toward Shiojiri or Nagoya. You can purchase train tickets from the station staff or the ticket machines. In front of the station, you can make connections with the local bus, taxi or rental car.
Hida-Takayama 飛騨高山
Hida-Takayama is metropolis of the Hida district
among mountains. Old cityscape is stored and is called "small Kyoto". It is an entrance to “Histric vi l lage of Shirakawa-go” of the world heritage. It is 2 hours by car from Kisofukushima.
Kamikochi 上高地
Kamikochi is a famous beauty spot among the mountains of the Northern Alps including Mt. Hotaka and Mt.Yakedake. You can enjoy the beauty of nature amidst the mysterious scenery. It is 150mins by train & bus from Kisofukushima.
Matsumoto jo-Castle 松本城
Matsumoto jo Castle is a famous castle built
approximately 400 years ago. It is of f icial ly a
national treasure. It is called "Crow Castle" due
to It's black appearance.It is about 40 mins. by train
from Kisofukushima.
Zenkoji-Temple 善光寺
Zenko-ji is a noble temple founded approximately 1,400 years ago. It collected faith from the all over Japan. You can experience the ceremony of "Okaidan-meguri" (walking in darkness). It is 90mins by train from Kisofukushima.
Suwako-Lake 諏訪湖
Suwako-Lake is the biggest lake in Nagano. You can enjoy the leisure such as a pleasure boats or boating. A hot spring is located along the shore. In summer, you can enjoy firework which are widely known around Japan.It is about 50 mins. by train from Kisofukushima.
